Beginning January 1, 2010, EzReklama will be hosting an annual writing contest on the articlesandblogs.ezreklama.com web site. ARTICLESANDBLOGS.EZREKLAMA.COM is a directory of free online articles & blogs published by English language authors who want to share their knowledge, viewpoints and experience with our site visitors. The purpose of this contest is to identify and nurture hidden talent. The contest will be online on articlesandblogs.ezreklama.com. Entries are open worldwide to everyone 18 years of age and over. Teenagers 16 to 18 years of age are permitted to participate in the contest but you must obtain the approval of a parent (or guardian) in order to publish an article or blog on our site. A letter of consent of the parent or guardian prior to publishing the article or blog must be sent to us along with the parent’s or guardian’s full name, city and telephone number for follow up purposes. We can be reached by emailing admin(at)ezreklama.com. Entries are limited to one per person. There is no entry fee required for submissions. The Contest is Void where prohibited by law. Employees and their immediate families, including household members, of EzReklama are not eligible.

Who Designed the World’s Smallest Robot?

“Super size that for you?” says the Fast Food vendor at the shopping mall food court. “We have a pocket version of that, if you’re interested,” declares the shop assistant. Our world is busy super sizing or extra sizing all sorts of goodies to serve up BIG deals for its customers. There is also much activity around downsizing and miniaturizing to make small things even smaller. One of the most contentious and fascinating declarations that abound the internet is the claim to the world’s smallest robot.

So, who designed the smallest robot? Well, after perusing a few articles and videos on the subject, the answer to this question largely depends on how you define robot to begin with. Are we talking about a stationary robot or a mobile one? Does it have arms, legs or wheels? Can it see? How many sensors must it have? Does it contain its own power source? Is it useful or helpful to humanity in any way or is it just a useless tool causing us all kinds of unnecessary grief? Maybe it’s a little of both.

As you can see, my original question of “Who designed the world’s smallest robot?” just generated a multitude of other related but important questions. Short of establishing an academic or trade advisory committee to render a decision on this matter, I decided that I‘d leave it entirely up to you. You decide! If you are even a bit curious, inspired or intrigued by the wonderful world of robots and robotics, I have compiled a Playlist of choice videos on the subject and some reading material to help you explore the subject further. Believe you me. If I had to come up with a list of words to label what I saw in these videos, words like unbelievable, awesome, WOW, Cool, and just plain downright Creepy come to mind!
