Simple Breathing Meditation Techniques to Practice Anywhere

practiced by any one, anywhere. Breathing meditation helps people to find an inner relaxation and also to
control their breathing when living a stressful life on a day to day basis. When learning to control your
breathing you will find that you are calmer, have a better health and that you are capable of relaxing a lot
quicker than usual.
Breathing meditation can be practiced nearly every day for approximately a half an hour a day if you have
enough time. It is recommended to meditate before going to bed as it really helps to relax the body and
mind and get them ready for sleep. For people who have never practiced meditation before it is advisable
to start with a few basic techniques.
First of all you have to find a comfortable and quiet place where you can meditate, this can be in your own
home or anywhere outdoors that you feel comfortable, such as the country side, the beach or even your
back yard. Make sure that you are in a comfortable position, either lying down or sitting, however you are
more comfortable as this is very important to be able to relax and start the meditation.
The next thing you must do is completely empty your mind of all thoughts, use your breathing to do this.
Start with slow deep breathing and try to maintain the same rhythm, breathing in through your nose and out
of your mouth. Make sure that you do not think of absolutely anything, sometimes it is useful to fixate you
mind on an object such as a flower, when you feel that your mind is wandering turn back to the flower.
Once you are capable of controlling your thoughts and your breathing at the same time you will begin to
find that every time you meditate it becomes a lot easier. Once you have mastered this basic breathing
technique you will be ready to move on to more complex breathing exercises for a deeper and longer
meditation.
