Well, it’s about time!
Here are 8 simple and really logical tips that all jet setting (by choice or forced) ladies should know and I
promise your next long haul will be a pleasure!
1. Go light and moist
Skip layers and layers of heavy make-up! Putting heavy make-up is actually a bad idea, especially on long
hauls; your pores will absorb those chemicals and will make your face greasy by the time you get out.
Instead, moisturize well (your face, hands and feet) and use a tone corrector for those spots you’d
normally hide with a concealer. Use shimmer and highlight on your face to make you look fresh through-out
your trip and skip that long-lasting lipstick, instead, use lip stain and top it off with a clear or nude lip gloss.
To get rid of oil or grease, powder lightly or as much as possible, just use oil films.
2. Freshen up frequently
When you start to feel all dry and oily, just blot those oily spots using an oil film then spray a little mineral
water mixed with a small amount of moisturizer. These will definitely make you feel fresher and lighter.
3. Keep your nails simple and light
Before you go on that trip, make sure you have clean nails and don’t wear those brightly colored nail polish.
Stick to something less painful in the eyes or (my favorite) just a classy French Tip.
4. Go dry on your hair
When your tresses are stressed, what I like to do is to spray on dry shampoo then flip my head over and
shake massage my scalp rigorously. This normally wakes me up and gives my hair immediate volume.
5. Small things go a long way
During my travels, I like to keep those small bottles and bars of toiletries they give away in hotels, empty
them out when I get home and replace them with my favorite products. I stash them in a roll-up toiletry kit
and this saves me so much space in my luggage. With make-up, I always bring palettes instead of having
each item separately.
6. Bring your essentials – in small portions
If you can’t live without a blow drying your hair, then invest on a great travel blow dryer or hair iron (make
sure you get the thin one so you can also use it as a curling iron). When you have trouble sleeping or you
know you’re up for a pretty long and stressful trip, make sure to bring your sleep mask, relaxation oil or your
comfort pillow (just make sure you use an airbag for it).
7. Drink lots of water.
During my trips, the very first thing I buy when we land is mineral water. I make sure that I keep myself
hydrated after a long flight or drive to gain my energy back.
8. Too much sun is B-A-D
So protect yourself, make sure that your products come with an SPF 15+ and never forget to put on a
coating of sun block, whether you’re going to the beach or just cruising around town. You don’t want to go
home with your whole body stinging, don’t you?
So, are you ready? All Set? Now go!
