CANADIAN MUSEUM FOR HUMAN RIGHTS — A CALL FOR INCLUSIVENESS, EQUITY AND FAIRNESS

The CMHR represents a unique opportunity for Canada to be recognized as a leader in reflecting and further advancing contemporary research on genocide and human rights and in telling the story of all genocides without any attempt to represent the suffering of one nation, tribe or community as having been of more relevance or importance than any other’s. All attempts to do so argue fundamentally do an injustice to the memory of the many millions of victims of genocide throughout the ages, whether they suffered in Europe, or somewhere else.
How did Canada get its name? Most Canadians, if asked about the origins of the name “Canada”, will admittedly lament their ignorance of that part of Canadian history. Of those that do remember, they might even recall the “official” version of how Canada got its name, the one they received from the TV commercial “A Part Of Our Heritage – Canada.” After all, ...

12 Ways to Become Extraordinary
posted on: 2011-05-02 09:01:15
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 25, 2011 -- In the midst of a mediocre society, we forget what it really means to be extraordinary. Being more than ordinary is looked over, and the meaning really gets lost. The basic gist of being extraordinary is going beyond the established norm; exceeding expectations and becoming exceptional. Simply put, it’s a way that’s above all other mediocrity.
The reality is that extraordinary people are not always extraordinary at the beginning. What sets them apart is their drive to become great. Anyone can be extraordinary as long as they set their minds to it.
There are twelve ways to be extraordinary, and they are:
1. Doing what you really want for a living. Ask yourself these questions: Do you feel energized most of the time when you do your job? Do you look forward to going to work in the morning? Are you content with your work in your current job? If you answered yes to all these questions, then you are in the right path. However, if you are doing something you don’t really want, you’re not living up to your full potential.
2. Striving to be the best of the best in your chosen career. Mediocrity is not accepted by extraordinary people. They give their all in every attempt, failed or not.
3. Not settling in relationships. There’s no reason to be with someone if you aren’t really sure about the relationship. Why settle when you can wait? Do you really love this person are do you just need someone?
4. Putting your loved ones first. At the end of the day, the only people that will be there to help you are your family members and your loved ones, so put them first.
5. Do more with less time. This means being productive and not wasting any time; important when you want to strive for the best.
6. Embrace your freedom. Many people take for granted the freedom they are given these days. Some people don’t even know when their freedom is being taken away from them. An extraordinary person is aware of his/her freedom, and is willing to fight for it.
7. Take the time to travel. If you love to travel, nothing should hold you back.
8. Master what you know. It’s not enough to just know something superficially. This is mediocrity. When you know something, you really know it inside and out.
9. Make your mark. Extraordinary people do something that lasts longer than them. They leave their legacy on the world, and they are well remembered for their achievements even when they’re long gone.
10. Always being abundant. Abundance is a sign that you’ve worked hard for everything you’ve earned.
11. Don’t be afraid to share your blessings.
12. Do something for a greater cause. Leave an impact by advocating something you believe in; change and mold the world for the betterment of all.
Before changing the world, you must first change yourself. When you have the power to change your perspective in life, you have the power to be extraordinary
