Clean your coffee brewer once a week no matter how often you use it. This is to prevent mold formation and coffee oil residue formation. If you are a heavy coffee drinker, cleaning it rigorously with some cleaning ingredients helps. But if you just use it just once in the morning, running it in warm water and mild dishwashing liquid should work well.
Use a better cleaning agent like baking soda in getting rid of the stains. Baking soda has natural cleaning properties that can strip away dirt and grime and stains in your coffee machine. You can wash your gadget using diluted baking soda or you can use dry baking soda and scrub it on your coffee maker parts-especially the stained parts.
Use vinegar to get rid of molds and hard mineral build-up. Mineral build-ups happen because of the minerals that are present in your water. They tend to harden up and accumulate in your coffee machine parts. To get rid of them, run vinegar through your coffee maker. Use the vinegar to replace the water when you operate it. It should clean the inside of your coffee maker and get rid of unseen minerals.
If you are not very particular about the smell of vinegar or you have a hard time getting rid of the smell after using it, try substituting it with lemon juice. This has the same acid properties of vinegar but with a lemony scent.
Dry your coffee brewer complete every after using it. This should prevent the formation of molds. Make sure everything looks spic and span all the time.
