The Soviet “liberators” raped 15 million women (on the territory of the GDR – practically all of the women!), of which 6 million had abortions. Nothing of the sort happened in the British or American occupied zones. ... In the summer of 1942, almost 500 thousand Russians already served in the German army and by the end of that very same year, there numbers fluctuated between 800 to 1 million persons in the ranks of the Wermakht, SS and other military police and auxiliary formations.
What is Canada’s most loved sport? More specifically, what is the most beloved sport of young Canadians 5 to 14 years of age? Is it American football, baseball, curling, golf or ice hockey? Actually, it’s none of these, but one does get the distinct impression that most Canadians are interested in playing any or all of these kinds of sports and none more than ice hockey. At least that is what the Canadian national television networks and other national media producers seem to tell us day in and day out on TV and in the newspapers and radio stations across Canada. It’s as if it’s un-Canadian to talk about any other sport. The reality is different but the myth tends to persist.
CANADIAN MUSEUM FOR HUMAN RIGHTS — A CALL FOR INCLUSIVENESS, EQUITY AND FAIRNESS
Featured Article
The CMHR represents a unique opportunity for Canada to be recognized as a leader in reflecting and further advancing contemporary research on genocide and human rights and in telling the story of all genocides without any attempt to represent the suffering of one nation, tribe or community as having been of more relevance or importance than any other’s. All attempts to do so argue fundamentally do an injustice to the memory of the many millions of victims of genocide throughout the ages, whether they suffered in Europe, or somewhere else.
How did Canada get its name? Most Canadians, if asked about the origins of the name “Canada”, will admittedly lament their ignorance of that part of Canadian history. Of those that do remember, they might even recall the “official” version of how Canada got its name, the one they received from the TV commercial “A Part Of Our Heritage – Canada.” After all, ...

Hot Ukrainian Army Girls Photo Disarming Bloggers!
By Ihor Cap
Where is this new secret weapon that Ukraine has? Well, don’t bother looking up The Ministry Of Defence Of Ukraine Web Site because you won’t find it there. I checked. In fact, the photo is making quite a splash on the web these days particularly with internet bloggers.“Ya’ Babieeeeeeeeee,” reads the headline to TizonasWeblog. “Are you sure that Xena,Warrior Princess started this way?”asks yojimbo at The Tizona Group, a place where bloggers sometimes address serious issues, but not in this case. That was one of several Weblog responses to the ” Not Your Father's Ukrainian Army” posting on Strategypage.
In case you didn’t know, the photo can be found on the 2008 Military Photo Index of Strategypage, a web site dedicated to providing the latest information on military affairs, and reporting on wars and hotspots. They also cover the “software of war” which deals with much ignored items like peacetime operations, intelligence, information warfare and the like. Well that might explain why you would find the photo published there. You might say this photo deals with the “software” side of war.
Anyways, I didn’t want you to miss out on the fun. Some bloggers are taking this photo seriously though. Really. “I’m intrigued by the shoes. Apparently there’s no military standard, since some of them are wearing slingbacks, stiletto heels, and ankle straps. Makes my feet hurt just to think about marching in those,” says Tizona Group weblogger Rebecca H. For comparison, “…the standard female dress shoes for the U.S. Army are supposed to be…”Black oxford shoes, or black service pumps…The pumps will be plain, with closed toe and heel. The heel will be between 1/2 and 3 inches high.” In the other words, functional, serious, and appropriate, but not hot”, says Manolo’s Shoe Blog.
I don’t know as much about shoes as Manolo does, but you know how the urban saying goes, “If the shoe fits, wear it!”I wonder what next year’s graduating class will look like?
