All attempts to do so argue fundamentally do an injustice to the memory of the many millions of victims of genocide throughout the ages, whether they suffered in Europe, or somewhere else.

Oil paint is great medium to work with. Creating oil paintings will never make people feel bored. There are a many different of materials and other mediums at your fingertips and when you mix these materials and mediums with the versatility of oil paints, you have lots of interesting ways to begin canvas art. There are certain drawing and painting mediums that are compatible with oil paints and when applied which will make painting process more interesting.
CHARCOAL
Charcoal works wonderful as a preliminary step to oil paintings. There are three kinds of charcoal used most often by painter’s and they are compressed, willow and vine charcoal. Willow and Vine charcoal tend to be more highly favored for preliminary drawings as they have a lighter mark and are more simple to erase. Compressed charcoal, since it leaves a much darker line, is more difficult to remove and not as commonly used to start canvas art. There are some very usefull tools to use for working with charcoal are kneaded erasers, stiff bristle brushes, blenders and tortillions.
PAINTING ON A TONED GROUND
According to the type of final picture you are going to paint, sometimes the white of the canvas can be too bright or have too much contrast which makes starting an oil painting very difficult. Using a uniform toned ground will make it more simple to judge the values in the oil painting. You can use differnt colors to make tones, even your own favourate colors. There are some popular tones such as warm reds, yellow and browns.
ACRYLIC PAINT
Acrylic paint is a great choice for starting an oil painting. One of the most important features is it doesn’t need to take long time for drying. This property of acrylic paint makes blocking in your underpainting very easy. Ideas can be worked out quickly on your canvas and you don’t need to wait several days to continue the next step, you are ready to paint in mere minutes. This really does depend on the type of acrylic paint you are using and how thickly you apply it.
WATER SOLUBLE PENCILS
Because of the versatility, water soluble pencils provide a great way to start an oil painting. The charming feature of this medium is that when dry, it looks like a normal colored pencil, but when water is added, it magically mimics the properties of water color. Artists can both draw detailed lines and create colorful washes.
WATER SOLUBLE OIL PAINT
Many painters are not familiar with this medium since its a very newcomer to the world of painting. Enter, water soluble oil paint. With normal oil paints, a traditional method for starting photo to painting is by diluting the oil paint with turpentine to apply washes. But turpentine is very dangerous. Many painters hate to use it. The beauty of water soluble oil paints is they can be thinned with plain old water. Water soluble oil paints act like normal oil paints and oil painting brushes can be cleaned with soap and water.
