To save on costs, you can use recycled materials from around your own home or buy them at resale yards. The materials you will need are readily available at your local hardware store. You will need wood, chicken wire, aluminum, steel, wire mesh, nails, nuts and bolts, etc. No special tools are required.
Here's how you can make easy to build chicken coops:
1. Decide how many chickens you will raise and choose the design you want to use for the chicken house.
2. Find the right chicken house plan that suits your needs. Make sure you have the right size for the number of chickens you are raising. A simple A-frame triangle structure with nesting boxes and a roosting perch at one end can be exactly what you need.
